East Coast Extravaganza: Conclusion

After Savannah, we headed back to Blythewood and Columbia. We spent the last couple days there with his family, and seeing Columbia. We also saw the Greenley family, Blythe and her family, and James' grandma.

James gave me a little tour of Columbia and the state house. He's probably better and more knowledgeable then many of the tour guides out there. He showed me where the Yankees attacked and damaged the state house. He also showed me the statue of the father of segregation, the slave memorial, and the highly controversial confederate flag flying in front of the state house.

He also took me to the governor's mansion. It was pretty low key. Then we went to the state museum where we saw a nice old Anderson Touring car, one of the original trains, and a replica of the original sub used in the civil war. It was pretty fun actually.

Now for my conclusion-ary notes. This trip was absolutely delightful. I got to see a lot of the greatest sights that our country, and the east coast, have to offer. I had some amazing food, saw lots of history, met interesting people, and experienced things that only the east can provide. It was the exact vacation that I was hoping for. What a graduation present to give myself. I sure know how to treat myself well. I'd like to leave you with some places that I ate and saw that you absolutely should visit if you're ever over there:
